Dr Daniel Ghossain is a chartered consultant clinical psychologist based in London who specialises in expert witness work, neuropsychology and behavioural problems alongside acquired brain injury, medicolegal work and paediatric neuropsychology. He privately practises for NPsych clinic and has consultation experience for East London NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Ghossain is also an expert in neuropsychological assessment and treatment, particularly in the areas of emotional and social adjustment and the management of mood disorders in children and adolescents. He also treats cognitive difficulties, post-traumatic stress, and sleep and challenging behaviour. Furthermore, he undertakes capacity assessments and psychologically treats functional disorders as well as adults with mood difficulties.
He provides home visits to patients in a consultancy capacity for those who have acquired brain injuries (TBI, stroke and epilepsy) and find it difficult to leave their homes. For this reason, Dr Ghossain offers community rehabilitation and is available to travel to various locations across the South East. In addition to this service, he provides professional help to his patients' families to help them adjust to their new situation. Dr Ghossain also regularly receives cases from lawyers and case managers.
Dr Ghossain is highly qualified, with an MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience from Goldsmiths, London, a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London and a postgraduate diploma in clinical neuropsychology from Glasgow University.
Dr Ghossain has previously worked for the City and Hackney Psychology Service (NHS), The Stroke Unit at St John and St Elizabeth Hospital in London, Re:Cognition Health, Wandsworth CAMHS and the Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit and Neurodisability Service.
Dr Ghossain, who is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), routinely provides neuropsychological assessments, particularly within a medico-legal context. He has a vast amount of experience in medico-legal work, having previously worked as an expert witness in civil litigation and for the Crown Prosecution Service. This experience led him to work with a wide variety of case managers and solicitors.
